I’m excited to announce the launch of Duffel Cars, the latest major product in our travel API suite and another step forward in our mission to make travel effortless.

From today, businesses can embed car rentals directly into their booking flow with Duffel, alongside Flights and Stays. That means access to 40 global car rental providers, including Avis, Sixt, Enterprise, Hertz and Europcar, across 40,000+ locations in 200 countries — all through the same simple, powerful Duffel API.

For our customers, this unlocks a more complete travel experience. For travellers, it means they can book the ground transport they need as part of the same journey, without jumping between different providers or leaving the product they already trust.

Travel is becoming embedded

Over the past few years, we’ve seen a major shift in the way businesses think about travel.

Travel is no longer only something sold by airlines, hotels, travel management companies or online travel agencies. It’s becoming part of the product experience for challenger banks, credit card companies, spend management platforms, HRIS, rewards programmes, AI platforms and many more businesses that want to use travel to drive loyalty, retention and revenue.

That shift is accelerating. Our partners increasingly want to launch travel products quickly, scale them globally and support customers before, during and after booking — without building an entire travel company from scratch.

That’s exactly why we built Duffel.

With Duffel Flights, businesses can access more than 500 airlines, including American Airlines, British Airways, Lufthansa, Emirates, Ryanair and United. With Duffel Stays, which has grown 10,000% in the past 12 months, they can access 1.6 million properties worldwide. And now, with Duffel Cars, they can add car rentals to the same experience.

Why cars, and why now?

Travel does not stop when someone lands.

For many travellers, the next question after booking a flight or a stay is simple: how do I get around when I arrive? Increasingly, our customers want to meet that demand without sending travellers elsewhere.

Duffel Cars is our first step in making that possible.

By adding car rentals to the same API as Flights and Stays, we’re giving our partners a simpler way to offer more of the trip in one place. They can create a more complete booking experience, unlock new revenue opportunities and stay focused on their customers, while Duffel helps bring the key pieces of travel together behind the scenes.

Cars also strengthens what many of our partners already value most about Duffel: one platform, one integration and one team to work with as they build, launch and scale their travel product.

And the opportunity is significant. The global car rental market is expected to reach $244 billion by 2030, and we believe embedded distribution will play an important role in how more travellers discover and book the products they need.

One API for the whole journey

When we started Duffel, our goal was to rebuild the infrastructure of travel so that any business could offer world-class travel experiences.

Flights proved the model. Stays expanded it. Cars makes it more complete.

Together, these products bring us closer to a future where our partners can care for travellers across the whole journey — before, during and after booking — through a single API.

This launch comes after a year of record growth for Duffel.

We've crossed past $900 million in annualised total transaction value (TTV), with 85% of our volume coming from the US. We’re now trusted by companies including Bilt, which uses Duffel to turn rent payments into travel rewards, and Rippling, which uses Duffel to give businesses real-time control over corporate travel spend.

We’re still early in that journey. In the coming months, we’ll be announcing new global partners, more product features and additional verticals that make it even easier for businesses to launch and grow travel products at scale.

For now, we’re proud to introduce Duffel Cars, and we’re excited to see what our partners build with it.
